'Difference' is important as different perspectives and voices need to be expressed and taken into account. In a true democracy, difference in 'voice' and 'perspective' is not only accepted but rather wanted. It is the suppression and outright elimination of 'difference' that is at the heart of the current (and many past historical) mind-set. That mindset 'includes' everything and everyone into 'One'. Everything and everyone has to be the SAME. The ontology (the philosophy of what things exist in the world) of such a mindset is narrow and narrowing. There can only be the SAME in the world. Anything that is not the same is (1) either incorporated (eaten, swallowed, of forced otherwise) into the SAME or (2) outright eliminated out of existence either (a) by killing or (b) by excluding or excommunication from the SAME. The real effect of (b) the excluding or excommunicating in the current context amounts to, in practical terms, to elimination.
A person who is not allowed to have a job will not make money. Without money she will not be able to buy food, pay rent, and cover all other normal living costs. The implication of this (b) state of affairs is extinction, especially since it is true that that humans cannot survive on air alone. The pushing away and extinguishing of persons is 'achieved' with this mind-set of the SAME by being instrumentalized through various procedures and very active and willing real players in this enterprise.
